The wider Group of companies we are part of is primarily involved in dry bulk shipping but has also carried out sizeable investments in chemical tankers and maintains significant exposure to domestic and international, residential as well as commercial, real estate properties, securities, commodities, structured financial investments, freight forward agreements and other asset classes.
Throughout our operating history our managed vessels have transported over 30 million tonnes of commodities consisting of major bulk iron ore, coal and grain, as well as, minor bulk agricultural products, fertilizers, mineral cargoes, cement, forest and steel products and other dry cargoes in bulk, break bulk or bagged form, equivalent to circa 1 million tonnes per annum.
We have chartered our managed vessels to some of the leading international trading houses of dry bulk commodities, world-class vessel operators and a select number of government agencies that span across all five continents. Lately, our increasing focus has been centred on Asian, Latin American and other emerging market routes anticipating and responding to global economic growth and trade developments.
